The Results

So the results of the poll are in and I thought I would share them with you all! :) First of all thank you so much for all your input as well as all your comments! It was so much fun to "meet" so many fellow bloggers :)

So the results of the poll-the question was this:

What as readers would you like to see more of
 on 110% Surrendered?

I would like to see more personal stories and pictures-27 votes (79%)

This was the biggest vote and so I will deffinitely start sharing some more personal stories as well as pictures :) It has been hard because I had been trying to do like five things well and so my life became harrowed and crazy and so since slowing down I am excited to have the time to be able to take pictures and that kind of thing :) And I am excited to share it with you :)

I think it is good so far-11 votes (32%)

Thank you for this :) I really appreciate it :)

I think you need to change the layout
(the way I do the bold and caps lock to emphasize)-5 votes(14%)

I will be trying new ways with the layout (hence this post) but we will see what happens :)

I would like to see more spiritual posts-5 votes (14%)

Honestly up until a few weeks ago my relationship with the Lord was really struggling and had been since three months before. He has so gently and graciously brought me back to Himself and I have so much to share about the lessons He has taught me and I can hardly wait to share it with you all!! :)

As for people that commented on my post introducing themselves I wanted to introduce you to them :) Please take time to check out their blogs and get to know them as well! :)

What a blessing it was to read each of your comments and to be able to visit your blogs! Thank you ladies :)

So here is another thought that I had:

Would any of you be interested in doing a guest post on my blog? If you are leave a comment and I will get in contact with you. I would really love some Mom's to do some guest posts but also would love some devotional like posts as well.

Just a thought we will see what happens :)

I am off to clean my house.

May the Lord richly bless you all today! :)

A Verse to Meditate On

Hey all!
I have so enjoyed
the comments your left introducing
yourselves! :)
My goal is to
get to each of your blogs
and get to know you
better but things have
been a lil bit crazy
since getting back to Fl.
so it has been taking a little
bit longer then I anticipated :)
The poll is still up for
22 more hours so if you have
not voted please vote!
I would love your opinion :)
Taken in NY at Jason's families house :)
So the point of this
post was to
share a verse with you
that has really challenged
me over the last few days.
It is found in James
(absolutely LOVE that book
I have been listening to it
over and over
today as I have been cleaning the house).
"My dear brothers and sisters,
take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,  because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires."
James 1:19-20
I took that verse
and started to try to
apply it to my daily life.
So often I am
incredibly quick to speak
and quick to become angry
and slow to listen.
But that lifestyle does
not produce the righteousness
that my God desires.
I want to live my life to bring
honor and glory to Him.
Which means surrendering things to
Him.
Is it easy?
No.
But I have found
that since writing this
verse out,
putting it above my kitchen sink
and meditating on it
I have started to think
more before I speak.
I want to portray Jesus
especially to the ones
I love most and
spend the most time with
namely-my husband.
Am I perfect?
Uh.
No.
But God is gracious
and my husband is so patient :)
What verses have you been meditating on lately?

Today I am 8 weeks!

So I have not updated in awhile!
Honestly things have just been crazy
in our lives!
Our computor died.
We ended up going home
to NY early for
a surprise visit.
We bought another computor.
I am officially today
eight weeks pregnant.
Pregnancy.
Something I longed for my entire life!

This picture was taken this past week.
Since I am eight weeks
my lil peanut is
now the size of a
kidney bean.

According to Babycenter
my baby is the size of a kidney bean
and is already constantly
moving and shifting
even though I can't feel it yet!
How awesome is that!
To think I have a lil human being
in my belly is just amazing!
And yes, the belly is growing!
So other things of pregnancy?
I have to use the bathroom all the time!
Nausea has come unless I am eating pretty
much all the time.
My hair is growing like crazy!
My belly is round
and feels like a rubber ball.
I am super hormanal and emotional
(working on that one though)
and am exhausted!!!
But so thankful!
That God has given my both
desires of my heart!
An amazing husband
and a lil one of our own :)

Abby

So I know that people are getting used to random posts.
Well, here is another one.
Ahem.
First of all my sister Abby
has a wrote an amazing post about our
(click to check it out)
Abby is 19 years old and a week after
Jason and I get married
she will be heading off to Mexico for seven
weeks for a missions trip.
Even though she is only 19 years old
she has gone to Papua New Guinea
as well as Mexico once before so this summer will be
her second time traveling to Mexico.
I am so thankful for my sister Abby.
Even though we don't alway see eye to eye on
things or disagree I have never
known someone more fiecely protective of her
family. She is so funny, generous, and loves the Lord.
I will truly miss her when I am gone!
So enough of me rambling on about her!
Go and visit her blog and read
what she has to say herself :)
You will not regret it! :)

My beautiful sister Abby 19 years old :)
The Case girls- Abby 19, Katy 20, Jen 18 :)
Oh how we love to sing together!
And of course we can't forget the brother :)
More to come on Danny and Jen
in another post :)

Bullets.

That is right folks.
Tonight you get bullets.
Starting now:
  • Yesterday and today were very long days from me. I worked from 9am to 7:30pm yesterday and today I worked from 9am to 5pm then went to my Anatomy and Physiology class from 6pm to 9pm. Days are long and crazy but oh I LOVE MY JOB! Plus it is nice to have to be up early so I can be motivated better.
  • Where upon Katy's foot started to fall asleep before she lost her post.
  • Switched positions.
  • Internet cut out.
  • Lost post.
  • And restart!
  • So this is what I am trying to get do:

Notice the journals?
I am going to be reading through them tonight and tomorrow.
Why?
Well because I am starting to think about
writing Part 2 of our story! :)
Lord willing only a few more days.

  • I am missing Jason. Tomorrow is the half way point in the week but wow...I miss him so much tonight it just hurts. I keep reminding myself that in 110 days this will all be a memory. Until then-these next three weeks seem like an eternity.
  • I am texting a very dear friend that I actually met through blogging. We started emailing each-other and now we talk almost every day. She is also engaged and what an encouragement it has been to have someone to freak out with somone who knows exactly what is going on and is quite possibly going through the same thing! What a blessing it has been :) If you have a minute go over and visit Rebecca's blog:  A Rather Unusual Maiden for God.
  • Thought I could sleep in tomorrow but I can not. That is ok though.
  • I need to start sorting through some things to start getting ready for...well some things the Lord is going to be doing but that I will have to fill you in on later (has to do with Florida Lord willing).
  • I love pistachios.
  • I am so thankful for my Jesus.
  • I want to badly to be the godly wife Jason deserves.
  • Anyone have any good chicken pot pie recipes? Or recipes in general? I need to start practicing!
  • Weird grown up question: Does anyone have any advice on what kind of insurance is good for a couple starting out that do not have thousands of dollars a month to spend on insurance? Lol :)
That is the end of my bullets. Randomness I know but I had fun writing them :) Blessings to you all and good night!

Who are they?

So.
Who are these people?
And what do they believe the Lord has called them to do?
Super excited to see what the Lord
does in the future and I
have decided that it will soon
be time to really share it in detail with all
of you :)
(I have been giving hints all along).

So Wednesday...

So Wednesday the
American Gospel Tour Team
went out and visited various churches
in the area and also handed out tracts.
We also had a camera
and in between pictures of
the spitball war in the car
(oh yes it happened)
during which I very maturely took the wheel
and pictures of us handing out tracts
Jen managed to snap this
picture of Jason and I:

So it may not be the best quality.
But see whose smiles?
I have been reminded this weekend of how blessed I am.
Jason is truly my prince
and with God as my King
how could I NOT praise my Jesus?
I found some older pictures
that I thought I would share with you
too.
God has blessed me with so many friends.
So many people who encourage me and love me.
It blows my mind!
God is so good! :)
These are some pictures that were taken the night my
sister Abby returned from a missions
trip to Mexico this past summer:

These are people from our church family.
We are so blessed to be here.
For those of you that don't know
my Dad is the pastor of a small
country church and oh we are so blessed
by the people that have been
there for us for 19 years.
God is so good!

L-R: Dad, Mom, Abby, Danny, Me, Jen
For those of you that don't know-
this is my family.
I realized today just how long it
had been since I shared an updated family picture!
We were so happy to be together once again when
this picture was taken!
I am amazed how blessed I am!

And then...my girlfriends.
These girls have been such an amazing blessing to me!
Especially since my girls Bible study began.
It is funny.
I refer to them as "my girls"
but I really feel like the are!
So what is the point of this
random post?
I guess just to praise the Lord
for how blessed I am!
I am so thankful to my Savior!
The friends and family He has given me.
The man He has blessed me with.
I don't thank Him enough.
So there were some small snapshots from my life :)
AND I actually got some pictures uploaded!
I am content.
And....off to work on school.
Blessings :)

Multitude Monday

The Lord has been doing some really awesome
things in my life the past few months.
I have so much to be thankful for
yet, so often, I forget to actually stop and thank
Him for them.
Anna over at Hope Road Blog has inspired
me to count my blessings and to
actually make a list of 1,000 blessings
and post 10 of those blessings every Monday as a part of
I had been wanting to for months
but just hadn't had the time but now
since I have deleted facebook I will have more
time to blog and thought it would be a neat thing
to do.
Feel free to visit the link and start counting your own blessings!

So here we go:

holy experience

1.  I am so thankful for my
Precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The more I learn about Him the more I desire to be like Him.
He is truly worth our all!
2. Texts from Jason that make me smile and then
thank the Lord for my prince.
3. Stars that glisten and shine like diamonds in the sky.
Truly the Heavens do declare the glory of our God.
4. A  cellphone (I know weird huh) that allows me
to encourage others and be encouraged in the Lord via
text messaging (yes it is possible! lol).
5. Prayer Journals
6. The opportunities that the Lord has been opening up
for the American Gospel Tour
(I will be sharing more about that later but for now
click above to visit the blog)
7. Cheerios with raisins mixed in=delicious.
8. Hugs.
9. Laughter.
10. Love.

You know you are a nursing student when

I have been wanting to share little life updates with you for quite some time.
Sadly, I have not had the time.
But today-even though I have a ton of cramming I mean studying
to do I have decided to give my brain a rest and catch up
with all of you for a few minutes.
So here it goes.

 I had an amazing weekend!
Passing out tracts at a huge festival (between 200-300),
kettle corn,
hugs,
laughter,
love,
Christmas carols in September,
a group of us having pizza and watching...Bolt (oh yes we are really ages 14-20 lol),
moonlight,
fall leaves,
chili,
an amazing church,
an awesome God
=contented smile :)

I love being a
throw random contents in the freezer together,
season to taste (being careful not to scald your tongue ahem)
cook :)
I created yet another dish yesterday and was very happy about the results!
It was so satisfying!
And now I have lunch for school for the next few days :)

I have started to compile a list.
Now this is no ordinary list.
This is a list that has been growing for the past six weeks
And will continue to grow (Lord willing) for the next two years.
I have been wanting to share this list with you all for quite sometime.
And today, as I munch on my microwave popcorn
ultra-healthy snack food I will share part of it with you.
I entitled it:
"You Know You are a Nursing Student When"

(Source)
  • When you know what sterile technique is and ,in fact, you think it is kind of fun to do. The thing is you start to get paranoid about your sterile field and sometimes you even find yourself practicing at the dinner table and reaching around your plate to get a piece of bread instead of just grabbing it (example I have not yet done personally but I know someone who has).
(Source)
  •  When you are sitting outside looking the moon and as the clouds gather around it you suddenly turn and say to your boyfriend: "See those clouds around the moon? They look like adipose cells which is actually just fat!" To which he responds: "And you say I am not romantic?" And you laugh and then start pointing out what look like neurons among the clouds. I actually DID do this! I know. It is sad.

(Source)

  • When time is something that you realize you do not have enough of. I mean 24 hours in a day? When you are at school from 8:30am and don't get back till 8:30 pm that is 12 hours right there! Time is precious and unfortunately it gets away from us way too easily. So I am learning to manage my time.
(Source)
  •  When sleep is something that...you never get enough of and when you do any extra half hour is completely worth it!

(Source)
  • When you have books this thick and thicker. You learn how to cram them all into a backpack. Do you throw your back out sometimes picking it up? OH YES! Pretty sure by the end of this semester I will have very strong shoulder muscles! But you know what-it will be worth it!
  •
  •
Those are empty spaces.
Now I know you knew that
so no need to roll your eyes ;)
This list will continue I am sure.
There are many more things I could add
to it but-
I have an Anatomy and Physiology test tomorrow
and I need to manage my time wisely :)
But there is a little snippet of my life!
Praying for you all!
Keep your eyes on JESUS!

Joy.

So, I have not updated this blog in over a week.
This would be the part were Katy hangs her head in shame:
*Katy hangs her head in shame.*
I do have a really good excuse though!
Life has been crazy busy!
Now that we have that out of the way...
The last post I wrote I shared about fear.
My fears.
Fear in general.
-Katy begins to get up close and somewhat personal-
As many of you know, I was in a courtship relationship.
Well, the Lord has a way of working and about two and a half
months ago we decided to end our courtship.
I have no regrets.
It was successful as far as we were in a relationship to determine
whether or not the Lord would have us be married.
Our answer was no.
And that is ok.
These past few months the Lord has taught me so much about Joy.
I have realized that even when you think that you have reached
rock bottom there is joy to be found in Jesus Christ.
I have learned that no one will ever complete me or fill that void
in my heart.
Only my precious Lord and Savior can do that.
It has been a journey.
I have discovered so much more about my God and have
fallen so much deeper in love with Him.
I never knew that such a deep, intimate and personal relationship was possible
with Jesus but now I know-IT IS!
I don't want you all to think that I have curled up in a shell and am horribly depressed.
Yes, breaking up with my boyfriend was the hardest thing that I ever had to
do BUT God has healed my broken heart and given me the courage
to dream again.
I have found joy.
So here are some things that I have been finding joy in lately:

  • Finding satisfaction in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
  • My girls Bible study that meets every Friday night.
  • Spending time with my family.
  • Working with some amazing children at my job.
  • Getting accepted into an LPN nursing school that starts in January.
  • Summer nights.
  • Night walks that last for miles.
  • Time with new friends.
  • Eating yummy new foods like chobani yogurt.
  • Working as a "manager" for Jason the Juggler (click for link to our website)
  • Swinging in our shire.
  • Time spent in the Word of God.
  • Filling up my prayer journal (it is almost full!).
  • Playing piano for my church.
  • Campfires.
  • Bible studies all throughout the week.
  • Young people attending our church.
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON!

Have I mentioned we serve an AWESOME GOD?

Joy.

When joy is found in the Lord-it is a beautiful thing!

These are some recent pictures of my siblings and I when we went to a theme park with an amazing friend. I love my family:

Oh and just in case you thought that we are actually normal here is some photographic proof that we...are not...

*Contented sigh*
I love my family!

OK! So onto some super exciting news!

I got asked by Miss Jocelyn if I would be willing to host June's upcoming Feeling Feminine Challenge (click here for more information)!!!

I am so excited! I have done the challenge many times and blogged about it as well. If you want to check out my thoughts on the Feeling Feminine Challenge from the previous times I have done it click here.

Random Tidbits (and I have a lot!)

Randomness.
Like this picture:

Ok.
So do you believe that picture is totally candid?
Wellll...
Don't.
It was incredibly posed!
But that is ok because you can do that with friends.
Well technically sisters.
Two by blood
One by adoption :)

These girls have been so wonderful these past few weeks.
As have been all of YOU my wonderful blog readers
and wonderful friends :)

I just wanted to say:

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! (Photo was edited by my amazing friend Emily)<3

Encouragement.

That is something that so many people have given me and ,honestly, will probably not ever know just what a blessing it was/is to me at the time.

I don't think that we really know what a difference even a smile can make in someone's life. A text, and email, a phone call, a facebook comment or message...things that take so little time and yet have such a lasting impact.

We have so many opportunities to make a difference in people's lives and I think that sometimes we can not even think about them just because we are more worried about accomplishing "bigger" thing. We miss the opportunities that God would have for us that may seem "insignificant". Opportunities to make such a difference for our Lord. To make such a difference in peoples lives. Yet, so often we pass them by...

I have been thinking a lot about passing opportunities by.

How each day could be our last.

How when I die I want to have no regrets.

How I want to make a difference and touch other people's lives with the love of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Have you thought about your tongue lately?

I have been thinking about mine.

Ok, so switching gears for a moment.

I want to hear FROM YOU (yes you)!

What are your thoughts on GOSSIP?

I am thinking about doing a separate post on it and would like your input and even questions.

Also I wanted to remind you that I have an EMAIL set up JUST FOR YOU. Any thoughts, questions, comments, or concerns and more then welcome. Why am I reminding you of this? Well...because...my email has been really empty lately! ;)

So for all you amazing people out there that read this blog what are some things that YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF?

Suggestions anyone?

I want to hear YOUR thoughts :)

You are all such a blessing to me! I know I have said that before but...I just can't say it enough! Thanks again for all the encouragement :)

Whew!

That.

Was.

Really.

Random!

Hope it made some sort of sense :)

Blessings!

Little Tidbits

Tidbit #1:

As many of you know, last night was the first
ever girls Bible study at my house! I was so
thankful for how the first one turned out!
Right now we are focusing on what it is
to be a girl that lives a 110% Surrendered
life to Christ (go figure) and so last
night we started with...CHRIST.
These girls are AMAZING (and we didn't get
pictures of all the girls sadly but
here are some):

Margo. Christy. Cassie. Stephanie. Jacquie, Jen. Cindy. Allie. Makayla.

I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us! Please pray that He would continue to give me wisdom as I am leading the Bible study. Above all I only desire that HE would be honored and glorified and that the girls would be challenged and encouraged in their faith.

Tidbit #2:

I have decided to challenge myself to see if I can go one month without chocolate, candy or deserts of any kind. Not because I am dieting or think I am fat or any of those other "normal" reasons. Nope. I am doing it because I want to see if I have enough self control to do it.

*INSERT SOB HERE*

I seriously thought that it would not be a problem at all "because I really don't ever have a lot of opportunity to eat deserts/candy."

Yesterday was my first day.

In scrap booking club at work I had to say no to STAR BURSTS AND SKITTLES. That was rough but I worked through it.

Then I came home and was preparing for the Bible study and started craving some of those LIFESAVER MINT THINGS. When Jen informed me that they were indeed candy...well...it was rough but I worked through it.

There was ICE CREAM CAKE at Bible study last night. Oh those oreos and whipped topping looked amazing! But ,even though it was rough, I worked through it (plus it was Neapolitan ice cream which I don't really like anyway so what made it easier!).

THEN. The WORST thing EVER happened.
My loving sister Abby.
Brought in a
HUGE
HEAPING
MOUND

of...
CHOCOLATE.
She set it on my bed.
And ALL THE GIRLS EXCEPT ME
started to eat it.
THAT WAS TORMENT.
Ever been SURROUNDED
by EIGHT GIRLS
eating chocolate bars?
The smell.
The pain.
WOW.
IT WAS ROUGH!
BUT.
I DID IT!

Now...I am on the second day.
Sheesh.
I didn't expect it to be THIS hard!

Tidbit #3:
I was blog surfing today (I love Saturdays!)
and came across Her Price is Far Above Rubies.

One of Jessica's post included this video by Leslie Ludy
on TRUE BEAUTY. I was so challenged and encouraged after watching so I thought I would share it with you girls:

Isn't that amazing? What are your thoughts on it? I would love to hear them either by comments OR email! ;)

Tidbit #4:

I have really started to make more of an effort to get my life more in order when it comes to practical things like learning how to cook and clean, keeping my room clean, getting up earlier in the morning (HAH still working on that one I am NOT really a morning person), making a TO-DO list the night before each day, keeping on top of school and working towards achieving my goals.

Have I mentioned I am so thankful I serve a GRACIOUS Heavenly Father?

One of the little projects I love the most lately is a collage of quotes I have collected over the years and ended up putting on my wall.

Tidbit #5:

Oh the many faces of Abby! This was at a girl's night we had with one of our friends Jacquie and UNLIKE THE PICTURES SUGGEST I WAS NOT TORTURING HER!

It was such a fun night and actually was the first time I had ever had pictures taken WITHOUT MY GLASSES so ,besides the amusement I am sure you will get from Abby's facial expressions, you also get to see ME. The one WITHOUT glasses :)

Ok! That was a really long post filled with...
well...
tidbits.

I am off to eat some lunch and get caught up on some emails that are LONG overdue!
